Mariann’s service evolved to also include key roles in important organizations that achieved significant successes for the community and its residents. In today's episode, the Agents of Humanity discuss Plant A Row for the Hungry in Port Washington, which was founded in 2010 by long-time resident Marvin Makofsky who inspired a group of Port Washington volunteers to help solve the community's local hunger issues through gardening. The goal? Deliver fresh, nutritional food to hundreds of families in need living in Port Washington, NY by encouraging residents to grow their own vegetables and share a portion to those in need. Since 2010, Plant A Row PW has delivered more than 50,000 pounds of produce to food pantries which support hundreds of needy Port Washington residents. After their interview with Marvin, the Agents have a conversation about hunger that you don't want to miss.

This episode's guest, Chief Erik Grutzner, was the honoree of The Nicholas Center's 1st Spring Gala in Westchester (on May 4). He is a very forward-thinking chief and devotes a lot of time to making sure the disabled population in Pleasantville is safe and connected with resources to support them, including the Police Department. All the officers receive training on how to communicate and support disabled individuals. The officers frequently visit TNC in Westchester, attend our events, provide support during events (help with parking and security) and have even hosted the Annual Coffee with a Cop reception at TNC for families, participants and staff. After chatting with Chief Erik, the agents get into their newest "Conversations of Humanity" about law enforcement. Enjoy the show!

This episode's guest, Dave Thompson, perviously worked at The Nicholas Center as the Director of Workforce Development. He worked closely with TNC and its three enterprises - Designs/Bakes/Suds. He was instrumental in so many areas of TNC's growth like workforce flow, even designing the Digital Workboard that is located in both The Nicholas Center and Spectrum Designs Foundation. He started a podcast called "Sounds like Autism" with TNC/SDF participant Josh Mirsky and has been a voice for diversity and inclusion. He currently works with Potentia Workforce where he trains companies who welcome neurodiverse staff and advocates for diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Dave also co-created the idea for Agents of Humanity, the TNC Podcast and started the NICE Committee. After chatting with Dave, the agents get into their next "Conversations of Humanity" about work. It's our very first episode and we're kicking it off with an interview and conversations around government with our special guest Assemblywoman Gina Sillitti. Born and raised on Long Island, Gina Sillitti has a proven record of public service and will use her government experience to deliver results for the people of the 16th Assembly District. Gina is a first-time elected official, having won her first election in November 2020. Gina’s nearly two-decade career in public service included working at the Nassau County Legislature, where Gina learned the value of constituent services. For her, it was never about partisan politics. It was about working hard and getting results for the people she served. One of the committees she serves on is the Committee on Economic Development, Job Creation, Commerce and Industry. After the interview, the agents get into their first "Conversations of Humanity" about government. Enjoy the show!
