In today's episode, the agents chat with Steve Edelson, owner of SMUSHT ice cream in Port Washington, NY which is a family owned shop, making small batch hand-crafted ice cream and freshly baked cookies. A self-taught cookie and ice cream maker, Steve loved the idea of opening a store where customers could build their own ice cream sandwiches and walk out the door feeling a little bit happier than when they came in. Edelson partnered with The Nicholas Center to employ some of their participants. The Nicholas Center employees currently work alongside job coaches at Smusht. After the interview, the agents talked about the importance of neuroinclusive employers and discussed what jobs they would like to have.
Today's podcast is hosted by our very own agents of humanity: Robert, Jason, Tara, Tomas, and Amanda.
