The Nicholas Center presents Agents of Humanity, the podcast that features conversations about being human hosted by individuals who just happen to be on the autism spectrum. In the end, we’ll always ask the question, ”how do you make the world a better place and become an agent of humanity?”

Michelle Shain has lived in Port Washington, NY for 28 years with paintbrush-in-hand wherever she goes- on the road, on a boat, train or plane. Michelle’s art ranges a variety of mediums and topics from graphic design and ad campaigns, to murals, children’s books and so much more. Shain was instrumental in the design and launch of the Residents’ Mural Project, which highlights Port Washington’s rich beauty, present and past. Between this project and her many local business and nonprofit clients, Michelle’s work is seen and admired all over Port Washington, NY.

Keith Klang - Born & raised in Port Washington, NY, Keith earned a Masters Degree in Library Science from Queens College, Queens, NY. He began working at the Port Washington Public Library (PWPL) in 2009 and has served as Library Director since 2018. Under Keith’s leadership, the PWPL has focused on inclusiveness with a new mission and vision statement, an updated strategic plan, the creation of an Adult Learning Center for ESL classes and more ADA accessible spaces. His favorite book is the next book he reads at the Library.

Richard M. Frankel served for more than 25 years in public service, the majority of his career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). A recognized authority in complex investigations, asset recovery, cyber issues and crisis management, Richard also provides regular insight on terrorism, criminal and intelligence related matters. Mr. Frankel led several FBI field divisions as the Special Agent In-Charge.
He has been featured on numerous news shows, magazines and podcasts around the world and appeared in TV shows such as FBI True, Netflix Terror, and CNN Declassified. A graduate of Ithaca College, Quinnipiac Law School and several Senior Executive programs. Richards' government service began as Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County, New York.

Linda Lowell - Physical Educator and Coach, Lexington School for the Deaf. Linda has spent 25 years teaching athletics to deaf and special needs students via teamwork, communication skills and the power of 'moving!" Linda says she just wants "to help kids feel included!"
Tapping into her infectious positive energy, Linda taught her deaf students to participate in a myriad of sporting activities, including team sports. Not one to shy away from hard work, Lindais also a marathon runner, mom to 3 and at one time, mom to a big St. Bernard! Just how do you teach athletics and team sports to deaf students? Listen in to hear the innovative and inclusive ways Linda taught her students!

St. John’s is a Community Partner of The Nicholas Center and home of many volunteer opportunities for our participants including the Pleasantville Community Garden, another local non-profit organization dedicated to battling hunger in Westchester. Fred Ellman runs “OnGrowing Mindfulness," an organization which provides therapeutic horticulture for seniors living with dementia and their care
partners. Recently, OnGrowing Mindfulness has partnered with St. John’s and TNC Westchester to create the upcoming Blossom Respite Cafe & Garden.
